We welcome Kristin Lajeunesse, Vegan Publishers’ first soon-to-be author and vegan travel aficionado, to our blog! Kristin has kindly dropped by to tell folks about the latest in her Will Travel for Vegan Food journey and a glimpse into the future, which includes an amazing fundraiser with proceeds donated to Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary!
Hooray! I’m super excited to share my first Vegan Publishers blog post today!
Rumor has it I’ll be posting more regularly starting this Fall, to keep you in the loop on my book writing mishaps err… adventures. Until then I have some exciting news to share with you: Will Travel For Vegan Food as you know it is (sort of) coming to an end. Well, the part where I drive around the country aimlessly in search of all-things vegan. Not to worry, there are many, many, many new and awesome things headed your way via Will Travel For Vegan Food. The first being the much anticipated end-of-road-trip party!
You are cordially invited to join me and 150 other food, travel, and animal enthusiasts on the evening of Thursday, August 22nd for what’s sure to be an event nearly as epic as the road trip itself! All ticket proceeds will go to benefit one of my favorite non-profit organizations, Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary. Held at Top of The Garden Event Space, there will be live music and entertainment, a high-end silent auction, a red carpet entrance hosted by The Vegan Zombie, and there will be incredible hor d’oeuvres custom made by Jay Astafa, travel-themed cocktails, and desserts from Vegan Treats.
Basically, you’re not going to want to miss it. :)

In case you’re just tuning in, I’ll give you the short version about Will Travel For Vegan Food. In the summer of 2011 I sold or donated most of personal belongings, left a 9-5 job, and purchased a sports van (which my dad and a friend renovated to make liveable). In September I hosted a crowd sourcing fundraiser via Kickstarter.com in order to raise the initial funds and before long I was off, on the road trip of a lifetime, in an effort to eat at and write about every single vegan restaurant in the United States.
Now, 48 states, 500+ vegan eateries, and more than 35,000 miles later I’m wrapping things up here in NYC. I’m literally living here in order to finish eating here! Haha!! While finishing up I’m also in the midst of planning the aforementioned end-of-trip festivities along with writing my first-ever book (thanks to Vegan Publishers) and planning the next phase of my life, and of Will Travel For Vegan Food. It’s all quite exciting if I do say. :)
